Important Club Updates About COVID-19

Dear Century Club members,

Over the past few days, there have been major updates in our local and statewide response to the ongoing COVD-19 pandemic. In addition to national cancellations and postponements, LBUSD, Long Beach State, and LBCC have closed their campuses. Recently, Governor Newsom has ordered against non-essential gatherings and encouraged social distancing.
In light of these changes, and out of concern both for our membership and for the community at large, the Century Club is cancelling Club activity at least through the end of March.
This means:

  • No St. Patrick’s Day membership drive/social on 3/17
  • No general meeting on 3/24
  • No social on 3/31

In addition, because of local closures, we will also be making the following adjustments:

  • No Grand Prix 5K on 4/5 (Grand Prix has been cancelled)
  • No Dirtbags social on 4/21 (LBSU sporting events suspended indefinitely)

All other events (banquets, meetings, socials, the golf tournament, etc) will proceed as planned until we learn otherwise. Obviously the landscape is shifting quickly, so we will update as we know more.
The safety and health of our membership, their families, and our community are our top priority. Please take recommended precautions to protect yourselves and those around you!

I’d also like to remind you that, although our Century Club events are cancelled, there are still ways to safely support the local businesses like the Boathouse that do so much for us. One option is to purchase a gift card now for use when it’s safer to gather.

Please stay safe and healthy!
